New Milton A Town Of Coastal Beauty And Wildlife

New Milton is a market town situated in Hampshire in the South East of England with an estimated population of 23,000. The town borders the New Forest and is around 12miles from the largest local town of Bournemouth.

The New Forest is a wonderful place to discover by foot or by bike. The area is one of great beauty full of wildlife and is sometimes described as one of the South East’s breathing spaces. Another local attraction is the town of Lymington which is 6miles West of New Milton. Here there is a large tourist industry thanks to its harbour and marinas. Furthermore, for people looking for sandy beaches there is a ferry link to Yarmouth on the Isle of Wight. Yachting enthusiasts will greatly enjoy this town due to the strong tides which make for challenging racing.

Additionally, one of the main attractions to the town of New Milton is the Sammy Miller motorcycle museum set up by the former championship winning trials rider Sammy Miller and holds around 300 machines. The museum is partnered with the British motorcycle charitable trust and stores one of the leading collections of motorcycles in the country.

Finally, the Forest arts centre which is a leading venue for arts events is definitely worth a visit. The venue consists of a 150 capacity theatre, a dance studio and work shop. Live music, comedy, theatre and dance are held here with many famous acts such as Harry Hill, Frank Skinner and Phil Jupitus performing here.
